In the filling of our very first rental property, one of our greatest lessons was not to pre-judge potential tenants. We probably turned away several people that may have been a good fit because we were looking for the most rent possible.
We learned it would be better to take a slightly smaller amount and fill the property quickly than to hold out for as much money as possible and carry the property for a longer time.
