Should I officially register for a business before getting started in real estate investing?

Thanks for the question and the feedback!!

We're not lawyers or accountants so take this advice as our "opinion" only!

We rushed out and got incorporated shortly after we started and it was a mistake because of the costs to do it and the income going through the properties wasn't enough to justify the overhead of it all.

Looking back we should have put the first 2-3 properties in our own names first (each), got the right insurance coverage so we were covered properly and then after that explored corporations. On top of that many banks won't qualify a new corporation for a mortgage so you'll have to sign personally regardless.

Again, that's only our two cents!!
